Our Story
Initially, KRAOSAN was a regional snack business made from cassava in collaboration with a local food producer in Magelang called RAOS. The RAOS brand was doing well, until the COVID-19 pandemic came and disrupted many businesses in Indonesia. The outbreak of COVID-19 and the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) were quite close to the 2020 Ramadan moment and at that time people could not meet freely as before. RAOS then took the initiative to create a product hampers (Eid parcel) containing local Magelang food combined with cookies and wrapped in a box.
Uniquely, many then asked to buy the 'container' only in the form of a bamboo box or besek. Along the way, more and more people asked for the bamboo box product. Finally, in mid-2020 we decided to create a new brand called KRAOSAN which specifically sells bamboo craft products. KRAOSAN itself comes from 'craft from RAOS artisans'.
We then partnered with bamboo artisans in Ngadiharjo Village, Borobudur, to produce various craft products. As part of our commitment to, KRAOSAN also provides scholarships to the children of the artisans so that they can continue their education to a higher level. We believe that through education, they not only have the opportunity to change their own future, but also become agents of change that bring positive impacts to their families and communities.
